I'm Michael Noworodowski, a self-taught photographer based in Kyiv. I started in 2007, learning from two old photography books that belonged to my grandfather. Since then, I've worked mostly with portraits of people in their environment, usually in black and white.
Between 2010 and 2013, I showed conceptual series at self-organized solo exhibitions in Kharkiv and Odesa. My work has received honorable mentions at the Black & White Photography Awards and has been selected for PhotoVogue. I stepped away in 2016 and returned to photography in 2026.
I'm not trying to fit the agenda of the moment, follow a fixed concept, or be original for its own sake. I collect random, fabricated moments of beauty, the kind that help me live in denial of reality.
